NNC Media Club | Leadership and Good Governance

As the Nyae Nyae Conservancy has its Annual General Meeting (AGM) underway this week, 14-18 September 2026, the NNC Media Club took a pro-active role in community advocacy while participating in their one-week, 08-12 September 2026 training programme supported by the NNDFN.

Through the training, Media Club members developed and published targeted advocacy messages aimed at inspiring stronger leadership, accountability and good governance — particularly among AGM delegates and the wider Nyae Nyae community.

The Media Club is using different platforms and formats to reach the community, including:

• Designed posters featuring key advocacy messages
• Radio and audio messages broadcast on local *NBC !AH Radio*
• Short-form advocacy videos for TikTok, with links shared through WhatsApp
• Interviews with community leaders and heads of local institutions
• Community-focused discussions and media content promoting informed participation.

The initiative demonstrates how community media can contribute to civic awareness, leadership development and good governance, especially at important community decision-making platforms such as the AGM.

This activity forms part of the wider conservation project implemented by NNDFN with support from IUCN Save Our Species and the TUI Care Foundation.
